The Diary of Anne Frank is among the hundreds of books banned in Florida this year. When I was in school, it was required reading. (Guardian)

I’ll never get over how, in an era when women’s rights and status are being attacked and eroded in law and culture alike, we were incessantly told that it was boys and men whose suffering we needed to attend to.

There was a rather charming trend in the 1910s to introduce the actor at the beginning of the film by showing them first in their street or evening clothes and then dissolving into the costume of their characters. Here we see recent stage import William S. Hart become a bandit in THE BARGAIN (1914).

I'm retrospect instead of War on Drugs and a War on Terror we probably should have had a War on Stupidity.

I mean I know we already have libraries, but I'm thinking more like some kind of forced library. Library Prison. Like some guy would come to your house with a gun if you weren't reading books.

I love these silicon valley bros that think ChatGPT has achieved some kind of sentience and therefore might have rights.

Like dudes, you don't even think poor people deserve rights, let's try to achieve that before giving person-hood to the autocomplete algorithm.

Finally, if you think this has nothing to do with you, good luck with that. The first use case of all new technology is to weaponise it against women. But Silicon Valley is itself a surveillance technology. Elon Musk knows that. And you should too: we are all prey now.

Gorgeous stained glass piece made by my friend @stonkers.bsky.social, inspired by the medieval Old Gaelic poem, Pangur Bán. The poem was written by a monk who would work tirelessly at his studies as his cat, Pangur Bán, faithfully hunted mice. www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazi...

Literally crying hearing how French women applaud Gisele Pelicot every day as she walks out of court. #r4today

Everywhere around the world women watch & applaud her bravery too. She stood up for all of us.

Because the shame has to switch sides.
