Some great recent research on gender biases in support for women candidates. Impressive research design with fascinating, though disheartening, results.
Sexism is still a problem in elections nationwide and in New Jersey. But it's less the gutter sexism of the past - though there's still some of that - than the more subtle sexism of how gendered expectations are applied to female candidates for high office.
I also spoke to our local PBS station about my research - with some new numbers- about the impact of gender on how people are evaluating female candidates like Mikie Sherrill.

This whole MAHA report debacle is a gift for professors looking for a good example to help teach about academic integrity in the age of AI. Gist article from WaPo: wapo.st/45wdA6A
White House MAHA Report may have garbled science by using AI, experts say
The report, led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was intended to address the reasons for the decline in Americans’ life expectancy.

Glad to see Towson University on this list.
When this statement from university prez came out ten days ago, it has ~ 180 signatures.
Today it is nearing 600.
www.aacu.org/newsroom/a-c...
A hard choice for many of these institutions. Especially earliest signers, who had no idea how much company they'd have.
But people keep standing up.

I once asked for the salad bar as a kid when my dad took me to Wendy's. For years he told people about it as an example of who his daughter is and always threw in the joke "salad, that's what food eats." Wendy's had a good salad bar. I stand by that to this day.
I already gave my answer in the thread, but this made me think
When you hear "salad bar" what is the first restaurant you think of?

None. Zero.
I’m sure 99% of the people that follow me have no idea what the Applebee salad bar joke means, but he actually said Obama could not relate to the person standing at an Applebee’s salad bar, when Applebee’s does not even have a salad bar
