the first thing i noticed is that you do not appear to own a TI-82

i always knew you had the power to exile target noncreature nonland card with mana value less than your power from a graveyard and copy it

in the 90s every game was required by law to have an ending where everybody makes out while calypso music plays

O light! this is the cry of all the characters of ancient drama brought face to face with their fate. this last resort is ours, too, and i know it now. in the middle of winter i at last discovered that there was in me an invincible hitachi magic summer

💜 we're in communication, it really is a fun design challenge and i'm happy to come out of semiretirement for this

here's one example of the custom concepts i have in mind. designing so that both drifting and shifting feel natural without tilt is the hardest part, but i have faith it could be done
Virtual-On Leverless Twin Stick is complete!

oh absolutely! obviously a purpose built controller would be ideal, though one matching the original motorcycle handle metaphor would be... well, expensive. there are leverless layouts (such as one that's being tested now intended for virtual-on) that i think might work well that i'll be trying soon
February 10, 2026 at 11:12 PM
i believe it's doable also, i've been thinking about it on and off since launch and whenever i get a new HID i like to see how it maps on. some come close, but beyond level 3 charts or so the abstraction between input and UI becomes problematic
February 10, 2026 at 11:09 PM
a microsoft adaptive controller with PDP left and right one-handed joysticks does have enough inputs per hand, but gives rise to similar cramp pain problems as the dualsense or joycons due to the size and travel of the buttons and the hand grip required
February 10, 2026 at 11:07 PM
was functional, but the larger issue is the inputs not mapping cleanly to the visual layout of the note lanes and the three different types of note target, leading to a lot of cognitive load during gameplay. even just with the basic six notes, few HIDs have three digital inputs on symmetrical halves

i love you too, buddy 💜 i had a truly awful unnecessarily wasted day in medical bureaucracy hell yesterday and you really redeemed it when i came home to this
February 10, 2026 at 10:31 PM
yeah well my lack of response should obviously indicate how bored i am, mans
February 10, 2026 at 10:13 PM
the two extra Ys at least implies tone! i can work with that!
February 10, 2026 at 10:05 PM
they're clearly baffled on the tech support end and very communicative so at least it's clear this is just remarkably bad luck specific to me, but that's slim comfort as i stand in line at the post office and pay $10 to ship a free of charge repair upside down smiley face emoji
February 10, 2026 at 9:03 PM
there's an obvious reply here but i'm too classy
February 10, 2026 at 8:48 PM
the brand new M3 PCB in my leverless failed its first day of use. at least that means it's under warranty this time but i think at this point i have disassembled and reassembled this thing more than i have actually used it. is there a way to order little ziploc baggies that won't get you on a list
February 10, 2026 at 8:47 PM
suddenly interested

oh noba
February 10, 2026 at 8:31 PM
rugby is definitely more visually intuitive but it is also terrifyingly obviously violent, which gives it the live theater problem, in that i have an overabundance of secondhand empathy and i'm all worried someone's going to screw up and fall down and get hurt or something and it'll be hard to watch

it's very strange how america and its football marketing just assumes either someone taught you all about it including the jargon, or you're never going to care. and that no one ever goes from the latter to the former. is american football the fighting games of sports this is now what i am pondering
February 10, 2026 at 8:09 PM
i was always expecting there to one day be a super simple arcade football game that would teach me the very basics, but football does seem to be a game about not letting people do things and yelling terms at them if they do it wrong, so a play on (say) NFL blitz just felt like a wasted quarter to me
February 10, 2026 at 8:08 PM
oh don't worry, i am taking it as read that there are Historical Reasons. like how we call our little pocket touch screen computers our "phones" even though the last thing you ever want to do with it is make a phone call and they're not even very good at it
February 10, 2026 at 8:06 PM
this all started because i wanted to know why the majority of play seemed to consist of people running at and into one another, then they all stop and stand around. the ball rarely seemed to come into play visibly. they all pile on whoever has it, then you still can't see it. (i am not super smart)
