The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

This is perfect 😂
If you wanted no leaks you should have gone into Settings -> Security -> Configure privacy & security -> Privacy options -> Other -> Configure -> Media interface and clicked “Disallow.”

The Leak setting is on by default but we understand your privacy is important so we’ve made it easy to opt out

And this wasn’t the only blatantly racist comment made to a room full of people with cameras today
RFK saying that “Blacks” have better immune systems and shouldn’t get the same vaccines as white people should be disqualifying. But we live in really dumb times.

A very smart colleague just pointed out the grim truth that the U.S. leaving the WHO may ultimately be a win for the rest of the world. Why? Because without a vote, “the US can't block WHO actions like vaccine programs, disease surveillance, contraception, etc”. Man, that is daaaark, but accurate.

Poverty is a policy choice.
What a chart...
The US share of single moms (19%) is actually pretty similar to many other advanced economy nations.

What is different? = US child poverty (20%) is way higher than other nations.

A word…
Just twelve kinds of sad.

You should use social media to, you know, be social. Follow people you want to read, talk to people you want to have conversations with.

Carrying around your town’s phone book doesn’t mean you’re actually popular, and insisting it does just makes you sound weird.
Today I discovered there's an app that folks can use to automatically follow people on Bluesky in the effort to build their own follower counts. Which helps explain some of what's going on. Can't say I care for it!

I recommend no fewer than 4 copies of any beloved book. A paperback for traveling and lending to friends, an eBook for reading with greasy snack fingers, an audio book so you know how the characters' names are actually pronounced, and a pristine hardcover to be buried with you like a pharaoh

You meet your kids where their interests are, which is how I've bonded with my daughter over football and with my son over cooking. It's awesome.

Imagine letting some dusty notion of "traditional gender roles" get in the way of all that.

And ending it would screw over red state rural areas the most. Hell, even private delivery services like UPS often rely on the post office to carry out the final leg of some deliveries there.
