hearing shit like this is crazy because if you've ever been unemployed long-term or have been close to someone who has been it's just a miserable and sad way to live and nobody actually wants to live like this
Trump claims that food stamps "puts the country in jeopardy. People that are able-bodied can do a job, they leave their job because they figure they can pick this up, it's easier."

Y’all, TACO is NOT normal 🤣🤣🤣
Agree.
Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."
This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

just sent a cold email from my university email account in clunky French to the national archives of Morocco since they're the publisher lmao wish me luck
I literally found the author's Facebook and I've never been so tempted to cold DM a guy asking if he can sell me his book somehow or another; that or maybe I email the publisher about acquiring it directly from them. Actually the latter is probably the least aggravating path to gamble on...

Tried to order it anyway and the website straight up doesn't work and now I'm mad as hell so anyway if anyone has any solutions for acquiring weirdly difficult to acquire but in print books I'll take them (France and Morocco being the only countries it seems available in)
there's a book I could really really use for my research but I can't ILL it because WorldCat lists it as being in only one library on earth and I can't order it because the only online bookstore selling it I can find is in Morocco so g*d knows what the tariffs are gonna be

"For me, from the first encounter with Jacques Maritain, one on one, in his 'sanctuary' in Meudon, it was not at all a 'beggar for heaven' who I saw and 'witnessed'—may he forgive me for saying while he is alive, if he ever reads me—he was a reflection of heaven; he was more than a ray of grace..."

I’m sorry, but a goofy looking guy who grew up a privileged son of a pediatrician and has a phd in social theory from the university of Goethe and started in tech by investing an inheritance left to him by his grandfather talking about being a “dude” is very, very funny to me.
