BREAKING: Starbucks workers have launched a massive, nationwide strike.

Baristas in 40 cities have walked off the job on the busiest day of Starbucks' year.

Upwards of 12,000 @sbworkersunited.org members could ultimately go on strike as the union escalates.

If there's one thing I would like everyone over 25 to know, it's that way more of the government is run by the people who just decided to show up to meetings than you realize.

Attend a couple city commission meetings yourself, and they lose a lot of the mystique.
Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

They even got a warning poster on him posted around their facilities.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Now that we know this article was a flat out lie and that KUOW refuses to correct the record, it’s time for a full scale campaign of you donors to call or email KUOW and let them know you won’t send them another cent

This is a staggering lack of judgement for someone who has been tasked with public safety in both Auburn and multiple regional positions (like the AWC Board of Directors): mynorthwest.com/seattles-mor...
Auburn mayor knew pastor admitted to child sex crime. She asked for no jail time anyway.

I know this is a toughie for republicans like Suarez and reactionary centrists like Harrell, but the difference between individual citizens wearing masks and agents of the state wearing masks is that citizens are not required to identify themselves but agents of the state are.
Huge applause at Suarez' question about whether Harrell will require protesters to take off their masks like he wants to make ICE take off their masks

Why would any self-respecting candidate participate in a debate hosted by this unholy coalition? Our candidate forums up north are hosted by HS students and the LWV and even the KIDS don’t act immature like this 🙄
Katie Willson is not attending this debate because, her campaign told me, she's under the weather. MC Julius Caesar Robinson just said "she asked me to send her apologies which I AM NOT." Andrea Suarez, head of We Heart Seattle, jumped up and down yelling "BOO!" from the front.

what the actual fuck, @seattletimes.com?
This is so incredibly condescending from the Seattle Times. Do you also ask male candidates if they'd considered running for an "easier" office?

The end of @cascadepbsnewsroom.bsky.social is a disaster for WA news. It's also a perfect encapsulation of the two threats to journalism:

1. MAGA Republicans & their tech allies defunding local news

2. CEOs & bosses union-busting their hard-working journalists while taking home huge pay packages.
www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

Extremely disappointed in Cascade/PBS’ decision to slash their whole newsroom. I’ll note the CEO doesn’t say anything about his own salary or any other c-suite leader’s being considered for reduction, just 20 hardworking journalists and editors out of work.
Cascade PBS slashes Seattle newsroom, citing federal cuts
Formed in 2015 by the merger of KCTS 9 TV and Crosscut, Cascade PBS will continue making video programs but will stop making "long-form written journalism."
