I still can't believe they're trying to make a war happen out of thin air. Not just their abrogation of Congress's role in formally declaring a war -- that's been a slippery slope for decades -- but their total unwillingness even to go through the motions of drumming up public support.

What the Op-Ed Says: Isn't it terrible Dems are doing what their leadership wants?

What the Op-Ed *Means*: Isn't it terrible Dems are doing what their voters want instead of what the Seattle Times Ed Board wants?????? #clutchthepearls #waleg
Are WA's Democratic legislators in Olympia to serve their constituents or their party? | Editorial
In an ideological era, legislators in Olympia are growing more partisan. Lawmakers need to remember where they came from.

This is so amazing!!!
Thank you to Chef José Andrés and World Central Kitchen! So grateful for all those helping our state get through this.
WCK teams delivered our first meals in Burlington, Washington to first responders and families impacted by recent severe weather. Residents of nearby Mount Vernon came to pick up sandbags to fortify their homes, and we made sure they also had sandwiches in hand before they left. #ChefsForWashington

So that's at least four people walking or biking in Seattle who have been hit by drivers and transported to the hospital - just today alone.

State government leaders are getting briefed today about the statewide flooding emergency. This is extremely serious across the state. Limit travel, check routes before long drives, don't drive through water, and if you get an evacuation order, GO.
I've activated the National Guard to respond to flooding. By tonight, we'll have 100 National Guard service members staging, ready to respond to requests for help.

Tomorrow, we'll have 300.

I'm grateful for all who are standing up to respond in this challenging moment.

News from official me: I just dropped the Affordable College for All Act, which would provide tuition free higher education to all working and middle class families in WA simply by making the biggest tech companies pay the tax that’s already on the books. It’s time to #ScraptheCap
🚨Bill Alert 🚨 I just dropped HB 2098, Affordable College for All. This bill would make higher education accessible to all working and middle class families in Washington State by removing an artificial cap the biggest tech companies put on their own tax rates: app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?...

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me
