On a positive note, what this reveals is fascists' Achilles heel: they. want. to. be. liked. They want approval & deference.
We can withhold it from them, for free & without violence. It's a cheap & extremely effective form of collective action against fascism.

In 2018, the Supreme Court in Carpenter v US ruled that cell site location data was too invasive to use without a warrant and now ALPR tech has reached that point. Being able to surveillance everyone's movements at any time with AI driven surveillance cameras is an affront to the right to privacy.

Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

That the response to this from a journalist isn't "well that's nonsense" followed by a recitation of a list of fossil fuel subsidies is an indictment of the state of journalism.
