People keep asking me if Dems are divided between left and center of party. Nope. We are divided over old and new ways of fighting. That 20th Century playbook ain’t stopping a dictator.

@schumer.senate.gov If you vote for cloture you are a stain on this country’s history that will never go away. You are willingly passing power to a tyrant in waiting, and you are a disgrace to every oath of office any senator has ever sworn. Your legacy will be one of cowardice and contempt.

TIL I learned that orcas are the apex marine predator of moose. Maybe the new weirdest fact I know, courtesy of @ologies.bsky.social.

Fascinating read, great reporting.
NEW: I got a RARE look inside the underground complex where America conducts its subcritical nuclear weapons experiments.

I was told reporters hadn't been down there since the mid-1990s. Read on to learn how American maintains its stockpile without underground tests.

Step inside the secret lab where America tests its nukes
A thousand feet beneath the desert, the United States conducts experiments to verify that its weapons work. But some fear a live test could come soon.

The great molasses flood of Boston has always been the weirdest tragedy.
Here I am, a factory worker enjoying his lunch in the North End of Boston on January 15, 1919. I’ve survived the influenza pandemic, I’m feeling good about life, and I’ve never been more confident I will not be swallowed up by a flood of liquid sugarcane extract

Just had a sample of the Eaton Fire ash that is in my driveway run on the department XRF. Is there titanium (new house paint)? Yup. Lead (old house paint)? You betcha. Heavy metals? Check. Treat that ash like it's toxic folks (because it is)

Last week, we took a look at where the top 36 drafted WRs ranked at the end of the season. If you didn't get a chance to check that out, I have included the thread below.

Now, it is time to talk RBs 👇
Now that the 2024 fantasy season has officially wrapped, I wanted to dive into how players stacked up to preseason expectations using consensus ADP vs. where they finished in 0.5 PPR and 4-point passing TD formats. Who lived up to the hype? Who overdelivered? Who made you question your life choices?

I love many, many things about this paper, but Venus being referred to as 'Earth's evil twin' might be top of the list 😂
Here’s a fun (short) paper by a NASA scientist explaining why we should go build cloud cities on Venus because “At cloud-top level, Venus is the paradise planet” ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citation...

Spent a day down a rabbit hole reading dissertations on proper frisbee design. Made some tweaks to #combatrobot full body spinner, and it’s now stable at 3x previous speed with no hw changes. Exciting when a little knowledge is rewarded to quickly.
