Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

appreciate this article breaking down a taxonomy of knowledge games (also, unfortunately, known as metroidbrainias)

I miss this work. More, I miss my old coworkers. Still the best and most fun job I ever had.

This interview is SO good and from the pov of people's networks of beliefs especially, it's so phenomenal to hear this rigorously brought into economics and how we talk and perform with economic storytelling
This is hands down the best, most enjoyable, and far-ranging discussion that I have had in recent memory. Katie brought so much to this interview about vibecessions, “finance guy” memes as politics of social reproduction in casino capitalism, Bama Rush and DSA.
