Honestly, the IPCA report into the police (mis)handling of the McSkimming case makes for jaw-dropping reading.

But it’s 135 pages long so I’ve read it for you.

Here’s my report on one of the most serious failures of integrity in modern policing history⬇️⬇️
The inside story of how police protected a senior cop, and prosecuted his accuser instead
For years, police leadership ignored warnings about Jevon McSkimming. The IPCA has set out the chain of failures.

Feels a bit trashy to self promote but if you are looking at the govts announcements and are wanting to learn NZ history that isn’t beholden to the whims of whoever happens to be in the Beehive, I do a podcast that might help with that

Teachers, drs, nurses, etc are dealing with a government that has refused to listen and has steadily stripped away anything that is useful and makes it possible to do a great job.

luigi mangione murdered a healthcare executive and opposed "wokeism." i don't know why people insist that killers need some coherent ideology. most people don't even have coherent wardrobes, let alone a coherent worldview.

I have an idea. Publish the rich list, but base it solely on who personally paid the most tax.

Not charitable donations - that's just a way to enforce the values of the un-elected, but actual contribution to the community through tax.

Let me get this straight. ACT ministers want to
- Increase punitive enforcement on the families of truant kids at the expense of support services,
www.rnz.co.nz/national/pro...
- decrease punitive enforcement of workplace safety regulations, in favour of advice and support.

It's incoherent.

So you can't
- continually ignore the work of skilled, principled people,
- blame them when what you actually do has unwelcome consequences
- and expect them to be silent forever.

The leakers no doubt know that this is a firing issue, and they chose to do it anyway. That says a thing.
