As bad as it is how few people within sports are pushing back on gambling, that people outside of sports know nothing about this is even worse.

Once more for the Albertans in the back
This is your occasional reminder that provinces have the ability to raise their own revenues to fund the services in their fucking jurisdictions, but we have normalized letting them cry poor and blaming the federal government.
Budget signals lower increases to health transfers, end of funding deals
OTTAWA - The federal budget signals there is no room for the premiers to negotiate for more health-care funding in coming years, one economist says, as the Ontario government calls

The stated assumption in e.g. Alberta (where I'm from), has been that we were too small to really move the needle, and it would be suicide to "hobble" ourselves when China kept increasing emissions anyways

So, uh, yeah
This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
China’s CO2 emissions have been flat or falling for past 18 months, analysis finds
World’s biggest polluter on track to hit peak emissions target early but miss goal for cutting carbon intensity

This is roughly Alberta's anthem
one of the things i think most people are too cowardly to say in the context of chat about a Just Transition for fossil fuel workers is that a lot of them will just not be happy no matter how just that transition is because at core they don't want to transition
tbf it isn't all gender it's also partly literally just wanting to get the votes of people in outdated industries

If you can't trace a video back to a trusted source then I recommend leaving it where it is, like a slice of bologna you found on the street
