The maddening thing about Trump's rise and return is how many opportunities Republicans have had to break his spell, and how collective action problems and their perceived self-interest kept them from doing so.

What seems pretty clear, though, is that if it happens now, he unravels pretty quickly.
Feels like this is the ballgame here. If Senate Rs don't tank the filibuster, he's gonna look weak. And I guess at that point he won't just look weak, it'll mean he is weak.
