When Shakespeare said "first kill all the lawyers" he said it as the first step of the path to a totalitarian government, recognizing that we are here to stop the government from exceeding the bounds of their power.

Trump is attacking lawyers because he knows we stand between him and his goals.

DOJ’s move comes after Trump directed the department to seek to sanction lawyers “who engage in frivolous, unreasonable, and vexatious litigation.”

Paid for my law license for another year.

So another year of being a legal menace is in store for all of you. Just hope it is not the last one for all of us because **waves hands at everything and the fall of the rule of law**

Can we just fast forward to the part where we get excited about the inevitable lawsuit only to have our dreams (and constitution) dashed by this Supreme Court? www.nytimes.com/2025/07/07/u...

3 emails in a 5 hour span from a marketing/coaching company is too many.

Especially on a Monday morning. After a holiday weekend.

All you do is annoy your potential clients when you spam their inbox relentlessly. No one likes coming back to that mess.

The key mistake here, and this happens a lot across all parts of our culture, is the idea that unless your action is the sole deciding factor in the outcome, the action is useless.

Even people who get that we’re all just pebbles need to believe they could be *the one* that starts the avalanche.

"It's very simple. Protestors use words. Rioters use violence. There is no gray area." - Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr

This statement underscores the fact that Carr, our state's top attorney, has never actually practiced law a day in his life.

Gray areas are the entire fucking job, you dolt.

⚖️ Do you want to grow your law firm?

But then you remember you went to law school, and they didn't teach us how to start, grow, or manage a law firm.

If this decision stands on appeal, it’s a big loss for Trump that will make it difficult for his trade war to continue.

I've seen some crazy bills, but 57.5 hours in a day is a "little" excessive.

Of course, my next question is how did this go on for 5 years? And $100m worth? Was no one on Fords legal team reviewing bills?

Ford accuses law firms of fraudulent overbilling, including a 57-1/2 hour workday
Ford sued several California lawyers and law firms on Wednesday, accusing them of fraudulently inflating their legal fees under that state's Lemon Law, including one instance where a lawyer allegedly billed 57-1/2 hours in one day.

Why am I seeing the unclaimed property departments licking their chops getting ready for this?

Oh yeah, because I had an audit where they were trying to claim the daily overages at the cash register as unclaimed property.
The US Treasury will stop minting pennies within the next month, leading to shortages at cash registers as soon as January and leaving little time for state tax administrators to respond to a heap of potential problems, state and federal officials said Wednesday.

Today, I was asked what one of the biggest financial mistakes that solo/small firm/Fractional General Counsels make.

I gave two answers, but I'm going to talk about one that I see ALL law firms make....

They don't do monthly bookkeeping.

Have you designed your law firm so it works for you? Or did you just start working for it?

Did you leave your job to start a business but instead created another job?

Is your law firm running you or are you running your law firm?

It wasn't something that I ever planned on, but it seems like we are getting a good little service going for our Fractional CFO and #LawFirm Operations clients going where we spend our time collecting outstanding/overdue AR.

The good news is that we basically pay for ourselves with this work.

Just a friendly reminder for both brands and influencers: disclose your relationships with each other on all social media and website posts. It's the law.

And if you don't, you might be the next target of a major class action lawsuit like Revolve.

It doesn't matter if I'm advising companies as their Fractional GC or CFO (or both)...chaos & uncertainty are deal & business killers. Especially on a macro level.

Businesses cannot make plans in this kind of environment. No one trusts this country, so why would I make massive capital investments?

JUST BECAUSE THE CLOWN CAR GOES VERY FAST DOES NOT MEAN IT ISN’T FULL OF CLOWNS
the speed at which these guys have broken everything has given a lot of folks who should know better the impression that they are an unstoppable force and the only option is to negotiate the terms of surrender

just because the clown car goes very fast does not mean it isn’t full of clowns
Whatever the immediate fallout of the scandal, what is going to stick around is the impression it gives, of hapless idiots doing ridiculous things. And I think that seriously reduces the appeal of capitulating to these jokers.

Basically, this is why you don't work for the DOJ/Trump administration. You'd have to argue stupid stuff like this. It's embarrassing for them.
