Last week we screened an Irish film in Stockholm and I welcomed everyone in Irish - not because I thought the audience would understand me, but to start bringing the language back into the everyday lives of the Stockholm Irish community.
The language gets its life from us.
To add to this (aye, Gaeltacht investment gets MASSIVELY overlooked), we should take notes from te reo Māori revival in NZ. Have Irish heard everywhere in the media, not just on TG4. Refer to it as an everyday language for everyone. Promote an Irish Language Week/Month to really encourage usage.
I just hope everyone who likes to mention that they'd love to learn Irish and asking Irish speakers to help them and not leave them out are also talking about investment in the Gaeltacht when politicians come canvassing. I hope they're asking for new local Gaelscoileanna and more GA career paths

Björk’s ‘Debut’ to ‘Post’ trajectory. Really that quality is even more sharp in Homogenic, but I’d argue Post really has all the roots of what we understand as Björk’s ‘sound’ to this day
Good evening Bluesky. What do you think is the sharpest rise in quality between a first album and a second album?

My choice is from "Frank" to "Back In Black" by Amy Winehouse.

Not to kink shame (as even that would set some people off) but I really wish there was a way to delete the Discover tab on here based on the weird kinky stuff that keeps showing up on that feed

Congratulations to Labour who have won the coveted Tommy Robinson endorsement. Excited for sensibles to explain to me why I have to vote for the people enacting actual fascist policy.

Pretty certain that offering much needed support to 0.001% of the population isn't why the wage for my job has dropped 25% in real terms since 2009 whilst in the same period the wealth of uk billionaires has tripled.

Reminder that the Refugee Convention was born out of the international community’s shame at failing to provide sanctuary to victims of the Nazis.

Shabana Mahmood seems to think we should’ve failed the survivors as well, by sending them back the second the Nazis were defeated.
UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

Logged into my 23andMe account for the first time in years and my results updated to include 2% Spanish ancestry. Which is obviously just noise, but there’ll be more noise from the Irish side of the family if they find this out. It’ll confirm to them we really are descendants of the Spanish Armada

Okay, I can't let this one go. I live in Ireland, not the UK, but the use of this image by a supposedly socialist party is so stupid and offensive, I'm going to get stuck in.

Let me explain to you why any experienced illustrator/designer could have stopped you making so many miserable mistakes. 1/

It’s besides the point but the artwork in the current Irish passport is so lit. Much of the designs and text celebrates the Irish diaspora. When I had mine renewed recently it was such upgrade from the cheap looking and boring Brexit passport.

I mentioned previously how Brianna was taught in school primarily in isolation and idk if non brits know what that means.

Tldr it's a room, generally with stalls in it so you can't see other kids and a teacher watching you. it's generally where kids are sent for bad behaviour.
“Surely, further isolating trans people will make their lives better!”
