Had some pretty invasive dental work done and I now have a lisp. The biggest thing on my mind is now I can't do my favorite impersonations and D&D character voices.

My dad is in the hospital and things are somewhat grim. More tests tomorrow so we won't know how grim until this week, but grim. This has thrown into very stark contrast my mother's mental decline; it's to the point where I'm facing potentially asking her to alter her lifestyle.

when the boston phoenix went out of business in 2013, i knew it was something i wasn't going to "get over" emotionally. but the paper was losing money. classified ads were our income; craigslist & the internet demolished that; the end. but this one is like. ok. i don't know what we're doing anymore.
what if i just start posting "polygon (under vox media) was profitable" every day. or i just post it every time i think about it. which is a lot. would that be normal? and healthy? i know the answer is "no," so i won't, but it's a very strong intrusive thought.
