"The Resident Evil Movies Were the Only Pair of Footprints in the Sand"

Possible best headline of the week
We don't have the past decade of amazing Resident Evil games without the decade of Resident Evil films that came before it
The Resident Evil Movies Were the Only Pair of Footprints in the Sand
The middle decade of Resident Evil belonged to Paul W.S. Anderson

This will be on the public podcast RSS Monday, but...

If you can't wait to hear Paul W.S. Anderson talk about how he was on the last flight out of NYC airspace on 9/11 to film what was then titled Resident Evil: Ground Zero, subs are only $5!

Scarlet Hollow Episode 5 is finally OUT!

Our vision was to make a game where your choices *actually* matter, instead of just being window dressing.

930,000 branching words later, no two runs should ever feel the same.

If Slay the Princess has no wrong decisions, Scarlet Hollow has no right ones.

fan service is actually good and artful when it's for girls :--) 🦋🔪

more from my interview with fatal frame 2 remake directors makoto shibata and hidehiko nakajima, who kindly suggested to me that the ribbons on mio's outfit look perfect in photo mode:

It was niche and nearly forgotten, but horror fans begged devs for a Fatal Frame 2 remake and got it: "Responding to those voices was the main reason behind this project"

Here's my latest piece for @pcgamer.com! Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is a brave, beautiful step forwards for the series; a game bold enough to be weird in its own unique ways - previous experience neither required nor helpful:

Spooky visual novel The Mermaid's Curse is the best kind of sequel: a self-contained mystery
Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is better for not caring if you've played the first game.

A perfect headline and dek but also, I hope to one day be as mentally healed as Alysa Liu. 🥲

Her short program was the first one that made me feel something since Yuna Kim in 2010, and Michelle Kwan in 1998z

I played an early build of this, and listen... my bias is abundant. AP was a former student. The co-first guest of Post Games. And a great person.

So with all that out of the way:
Titanium Court would have been in my end-of-year list last year. It will be this year. It's unbelievable.
Titanium Court is a play, a match three and strategy game, a dream and a nightmare, and deeply compelling
I don't know what's happening and I like it.

Well. This is new.

A game maker pitched me their studio's game via email. I replied that it sounded interesting and wanted some more info, along with a release date. They then sent an AI-generated auto-reply that I had to read three times because it had no relation to what I'd asked.
