i’ve felt disconnected from nyc recently, but zohran INCREDIBLY taps into how i felt as a little girl, wearing a bindi and bangles for fun on my way to the greek market! my parents had only been in the US for 6 years, but that was ok because nyc was the world. i miss it spinning for me, & im hopeful

no one knew i was hurting when i was small except for people like edward gorey, RL stine, and stephen king, who understand the world is cruel to small things. this is the “inner child” i‘m glad to see represented in film, the one that’s still screaming 🎈
