As befits this sneaky goblin, I did not see Styx: Blades of Greed coming. Extremely pleasantly surprised by how this tackles stealth in a dense dark fantasy open world.
What if Metal Gear Solid 5 went goblin mode? I've been delighted by this fantasy stealther

As befits this sneaky goblin, I did not see Styx: Blades of Greed coming. Extremely pleasantly surprised by how this tackles stealth in a dense dark fantasy open world.
Review-in-progress from me. So far, a fairly serviceable Metroidvania that has me longing to return to Blasphemous or other much more brutal and less tame genre adventures. Hoping it can grab me later on.
Hands on: Kratos was a Metroidvania hero before God of War – though, so far, only an average one I'm afraid
God of War Sons of Sparta struggles to deliver on the best of God of War or the best the Metroidvania genre has to offer.

Mewgenics is unputdownable, and carries forward the chaotic roguelike energy that I can't quit from The Binding of Isaac.
After 20 hours spent training necromancer cats and raising an army of sentient rocks, I can safely say Mewgenics is one of the best roguelikes I've ever played

I'm in danger when Australia Did It launches given how moreish its tactical tower defence is. Heaps of mechanics elegantly come together, and I had a great little chat with @ramiismail.com about it!

Horizon's co-op game may be a shameless Monster Hunter-like, but it's enough to get me excited about a new PlayStation live service for once

I convinced Oscar to play Highguard and he was very good at possessing the Shieldbreaker
Highguard has some great, tense conflicts... eventually.
I love Highguard's 2Fort-style sieges – when they actually happen
Highguard can deliver some excellent firefights, but each match half-heartedly has to trot you through too many phases to get to them

Code Vein 2 feels like the first post-Elden Ring Soulslike to try something of a similar scale, and has inventive combat moves - but it's made too many compromises to get there.
