Lil Lumines Arise review - still a puzzle format that gives me incredible highs and anxiety-ridden lows, but a lot of fun. I also grapple with the strange nature of reviewing iterative puzzle games.
Lumines Arise review: "Just as effective as Tetris Effect, block matching to a beat becomes a transcendent experience"

Played through this after loving the demo, and Act One is a really great start. Impeccable vibes and style, and getting into the rhythm of spraying and grappling through the space colony is great. More than a couple of really impactful vistas I'll avoid spoiling for now as well.
There'll be a new pinned post this week, but for now: Ambrosia Sky: Act One is *out* now!

"Weaving together mythology, magic, and historical detail, each case you solve fairly sticks to the rules, no matter how supernatural." My Seance of Blake Manor review! @spookydoorway.bsky.social @rawfury.bsky.social
This supernatural detective story is incredibly immersive, with magical solutions that force you to learn their rules rather than feeling cheap
The Séance of Blake Manor is an incredibly detailed supernatural mystery where every guest is laden with secrets to unravel.

Really enjoyed playing Alruna: End of History - a plant powered grimdark Metroidvania!
Plant powers rule in this grimdark Metroidvania about reclaiming industrial spaces, and I love the condensed approach to maps that still pack secrets
Hands-on | Alruna: End of History is a Metroidvania with blooming good powers

This was a tricky review! Sharper combat is a plus, but I found the mission design pretty weak compared to other Warriors games, so not a lot of reason to appreciate it. www.gamesradar.com/games/the-le...
Zelda is a fantastic lead in this action-packed Tears of the Kingdom prequel, but boring missions hold the magic back
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment manages to find exciting stories to tell, even set far in the world's past.

Carimara is truly something special! A half hour long, luscious fairy tale mystery. Here's my review! @cr-games.bsky.social @bastinusrex.bsky.social
This gothic fairy tale is short, but has become my favorite mystery game of the year
Carimara: Beneath the Forlorn Limbs is a fairytale mystery packed with character and a gorgeous sense of aesthetics.

Dishonored and Citizen Sleeper collide in this dice-rolling steampunk RPG, and I can't wait to explore its dangerous city

Skate Story is as good as it looks, bursting with immaculate vibes that sell the freedom of boarding, all in a vaporwavey take on the underworld. @devolverdigital.com @bysameng.com @skatestory.com
I kickflipped so hard I destroyed a moon in the demonic Skate Story, which is already my favorite skater of 2025
Hands-on | Move over Tony Hawk, I've got a new favorite skating game thanks to the underworld ollies of Skate Story

I thought modern Pokemon had lost me, but Legends Z-A has pulled me back in.
Pokemon Sword and Shield made me a lapsed fan but Pokemon Legends: Z-A has turned me back into a super nerd

VtM: Bloodlines 2 has some stunning imagery that the game struggles to deliver on. I drill down into what I liked, and how it doesn't quite land.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has stunning imagery, but falls flat on delivering on the promise of its presentation
Opinion | Bloodlines 2 has some striking moments that almost work, but become completely unravelled, lacking impact in play

Been catching up on some games I missed from throughout the year and wow, Hunter: The Reckoning — The Beast of Glenkildove is rad so far. (A World of Darkness text adventure - same universe as Vampire).

Frankenstein was fantastic! So big in every aspect it really deserves the big screen, so it's frustrating it's only getting a limited release.

Swansong, ye were judged too harshly in hindsight. Oscar speaks the truth 🙏 🩸
"Swansong luxuriates in its storytelling." Disappointed by Bloodlines 2, I've loved returning to this narrative centric VtM game.
After 15 hours of Bloodlines 2 disappointment, the embrace of Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong has healed my bloodied heart
Now Playing | Returning to Swansong has revealed it an underrated social RPG gem that lets the fangs do the talking, and the perfect cure for Bloodlines 2

This has made me want to restart Swansong, which I never finished due to hitting a fatal late-game glitch. I'll also take this opportunity to mention that the first and second VNs are spectacularly discounted on PSN right now (89p and £1.49 respectively).

Hi everyone, I'm urgently looking for any work. I'm a writer and narrative designer, I offer game consultations and mock reviews, I localise between German and English, I can write copy. If it needs words, I'll do it! Here's some games I've written on in the past:

Reanimal is already oozing delicious terror.
Reanimal is as deliciously morbid as Little Nightmares and comes from the original creators
Hands-on | There's nothing little about this nightmare – Reanimal brings some big, primal fears of the unknown to the fore

It's a simple twist, but time travel really works wonders for Once Upon a Katamari! Here's my review.
