I’m pretty excited to get angry and yell at a mayor who will actually listen and care and maybe even adjust when he gets called out on his fuck ups.

Let me tell you something

I’m a New Yorker, I do not take kindly to those people who talk about New York as though it isn’t a real place populated by real people. This is not an abstract. This is not some place on a tv show. Eight point five million people call New York City their home.

This is functionally a robbery of New York City and New York State taxpayers, who contribute billions more to the federal government annually than we get back.

Stealing our money, blocking our bus lanes.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

Are these Catholics also going to focus on the church themselves and stop pushing their right-wing version of Catholicism on the rest of us?

I’m going to guess … no.
So ... Catholic *traditionalists* want a pope who doesn't involve himself in global politics?

From pure appellate standpoint, his missives are infuriating bc they have no support in the record – he’s adding his unsubstantiated viewpoint of what it must be like, not what the facts really are. It’s extremely difficult to litigate cases to a court willing to make up facts to support an opinion
Kavanaugh recently suggested immigration stops are no big deal if you're a legal resident bc ICE just promptly releases you

That is not, in fact, what ICE does

He invents a fiction bc the reality of the policies he supports is too disturbing for him to imagine

Why are Republicans secretly glad that because of the shutdown no jobs report will be released on Friday, even if they won't admit it? This is why 👇
CNBC: "Very disappointing. It's a weak number. This is private sector jobs for September. The total comes in -32,000. And that was a surprise because economists were looking for an increase of 51,000. Also, the revision was not good. August now showing -3,000 compared to the initial read of 54,000"

Here are three more factual statements:

1. 25,000 of Mike Johnson's constituents are about to lose health care

2. 27,000 more are about to have their premiums skyrocket.

3. A 60 year old couple in his district would pay $19,000 more a year.
STEPHANOPOULOS: The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher healthcare premiums. Why are you against that?

MIKE JOHNSON: That's an absurd statement

Trump has decided that no jobs report will issue on Friday due to the government shutdown. But it turns out there is a different reason: that report will, when issued, be catastrophically bad.
