🚨Ed Martin said he planned to use a criminal investigation into James and Schiff to “look at everything else they've been doing.” That’s not how it works. A criminal investigation is not an excuse to pry, harass and threaten people about non-criminal conduct. This is dangerous.
Ed Martin: "Letitia James & Adam Schiff -- both their lawyers have come out and talked publicly about the criminal referrals...we're gonna follow the facts...and if somebody did something wrong, we're not only gonna hold them accountable, we're also gonna look at everything else they've been doing"

The Putin-Trump meeting was a disaster, as predicted. Putin got everything he wanted: a photo op legitimizing his war crimes, no ceasefire, and no sanctions or new weapons for Ukraine.

Trump's goal was to keep Putin happy. He succeeded.

It remains wild to me both that Republicans have decided that outright blatant corruption is suddenly legal for this one guy and also that Democrats don't shout about it every single day.

"...no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust...shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title...from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

“Emergency” is a word w/meaning that should be justified by facts.

FBI data suggests that Memphis, Cleveland,Toledo & Little Rock have higher crime rates.

The media would do well to interrogate the basis for the exercise of emergency powers rather than “residents say crime really is bad” stories.
STOP conceding that Trump can legitimately expand grab by deploying baseless claims of “emergency.”

There was NO EMERGENCY to justify tariffs.
There was NO “INVASION” to justify this migrant crackdown.
And there is NO “EMERGENCY” that justifies military takeover of local law enforcement in D.C.

BINGO. Increased paperwork, short deadlines for recert, decreased services to respond to queries...that's all part of the design to avoid saying "cuts" — to toss people off Medicaid that way. The admin & the MAGA Congress know that. Beshear is on point.
Beshear: "These work requirements really aren't getting people back to work. They are about increasing the paperwork on everybody ... when somebody misses that one box, they are kicked off for six months or more."

Man, seems like it might just be a good idea to check with someone other than administration flaks to see if that actually happens over the next year.
Hassett is just gonna lie right through it: "I think that nobody is gonna lose their insurance."

The people who lost children and other loved ones in the Texas floods are owed honest answers from officials. They should be told why flash flood warnings issued hours earlier were not conveyed to people in the path of the water. They don’t need more prayers from politicians. They need answers.

Those of us who warned—before the election—that a Trump regime would eventually come for everyone were called “cynics”, “alarmists”, “idiots”, or worse.

Fast forward to not even 6 months in to his second term and he is now calling for expelling American citizens as he opens concentration camps.
Trump calls for deporting US citizens: "We also have a lot of bad people that have been here for a long time ... many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here too, if you want to know the truth. So maybe that'll be the next job."
