QAnon is of course insane and bogus but nobody “serious” espouses it and lab leak is I think generally accepted by the public at this point as the likely origin. But there’s nothing there it’s become ingrained via repetition.

I love reading up on conspiracy theories and have since I was a kid and I don’t think there’s a modern one based on less than lab leak. The entirety of the evidence is the lab being a half hour drive from the market. You can’t have lab leak without the market so this next evolution is even flimsier.
Redfield is a Trump appointee and known crank. If COVID was circulating in summer of 2019, the entire timeline of the pandemic would be different. Chinese authorities were not "pushing the wet market narrative," they actively covered it up.

I love reading up on conspiracy theories and have since I was a kid and I don’t think there’s a modern one based on less than lab leak. I kinda want Elon Musk to become the first trillionaire. You don’t have to read Marx or cite a bunch of academic texts you can just point to the system rewarding one of the dumbest people alive who spends every waking second angry at his phone with more wealth than anyone in history.

The billionaire walk is so funny because to a normal person you have functionally unlimited money once you’re in the tens of millions of dollars range. It’s just chasing a high score once you’re in the billions you can’t possibly spend all that money.

The forces that make Trump impervious to internal correction within the GOP are going to create huge obstacles to the party winning elections and governing for a generation.

I'm glad for you if it isn't the case but a lot of people know someone who was normal and fried their brain with Facebook or Twitter. The elites aren't immune to it - the old guard used to read real outlets and feed the slop to the masses and now they're in group texts developing a shared psychosis.

Just isn’t the case. Used to be the elites fed the bullshit to the base but they’re all sucking from the same hose. It doesn’t excuse anything but they do genuinely believe the insane things they post.
