NEW: We’re publishing a full list of the 373 federal judges who have ruled against ICE’s mass detention policy and the 28 who have endorsed it — as well as links to key rulings by each.

Trump appointees have split 44 against/ 20 for the policy.

NEW — I spoke with Rep. Delia Ramirez (@ramirez.house.gov) about her calling DHS leaders "inheritors of the Klan hood and the slave patrol," the prospect of one day seeing them behind bars, and what it's like to see the public [finally] embrace her long-held dream to abolish ICE.

Our conversation:
"The day of accountability will come": Rep. Delia Ramirez on abolishing and prosecuting DHS
The Handbasket spoke with the congresswoman who called out ICE long before it was popular.

Most don’t realize how far away the moon is. The average commercial flight travels 550-600 mph and at that speed would take ~30 days to get to the moon (do not fly commercial to the moon).

If the goal is really “never again,” you have to actually dismantle any system that can be transformed into a lawless, roving, interior-focused police force within a matter of weeks or months, which is all the time it took in the spring of ‘25 to launch the first surge.

The numbers do speak for themselves. In fact, our neighbors know this because they feel it on the ground. They expect us to do more.

How about you stop telling us behind closed doors that we shouldn’t fund immigrant legal assistance, rental assistance, or support for our small businesses!
Big numbers. Big impact. The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to the effects of Operation Metro Surge. What can you do? Support businesses. Donate. Volunteer for a grocery run. As Assistant Chief Gaiters said today, we're Minneapolis Strong.

Cornelius is a relatively quiet town on a highway between Portland's suburbs. It's near where I went to high school.

Caesar Chavez never happened in Oregon, so the Latinos there already had it *really bad*

but now, of course: it's much, much worse.
Although President Trump may be ending the surge of immigration agents in Minneapolis, small towns, like Cornelius, Oregon, and Coon Rapids, Minnesota, are dealing with the arrival of ICE agents. Even a single incident can shatter the tranquillity of neighborhoods unaccustomed to turmoil.
Beyond the Big Cities, ICE Is Rattling Small-Town and Exurban America
Far from the national spotlight, towns like Cornelius, Ore., and Coon Rapids, Minn., are dealing with President Trump’s expanding mass deportation effort, and the effects can be acute.
