Leftists talk about the ACA the way right-wing antivaxxers talk about vaccine-preventable diseases.

The abuses the ACA eliminated were so horrific that a lot of people can't believe they were possible. Just like people can't believe the pre-vaccine childhood mortality rate in developed countries.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

Many many people on this site are convinced that Chuck Schumer can't do anything except poison the well now and needs to go exile himself to Siberia. And I hate to break this those people, but the vast majority of voters don't know what a CR even is. Your experience on bluesky is not representative!

I forgot to mention that one of my favorite Glorantha things is that female initiates of Lhankor Mhy, a Knowledge god, wear fake beards largely in order to stroke them Wisely
most Orlanthi men initiate into Orlanth, the warrior-adventurer sky god, and most women initiate into Ernalda, the earth-mother-fertility goddess married to Orlanth. But lots of people don't! They might initiate into other gods without a strong gendered element, but they also might, for instance

The pack of cards gimmick the US used for the most wanted members of the Iraqi regime during the Iraq war was clever. I seriously suggest that you do that, but assign one of 52 specific cards to the most prominent neo-Nazi accounts. You can even give captivedreamer the ace of spades if you want.

Arguments I'm tired of hearing:

"If only scientists/engineers/software devs had history/humanities/art degrees, they would learn this lesson from history."

No, none of those degrees or courses of study have stopped some of history's greatest monsters from being who they are.
