Any FinTwit refugees have good recommendations for how to invest going forward if securities regulations won’t be enforced and federal spending is going to be primarily directed towards friends of the kleptocracy?
Obvious answer: the two pro-kleptocracy stocks (on a tear), but I can’t support them.
Heading to the outer reef today in a tiny boat with three outboard motors for speed and had the horrible realization that if we were doing this in the southern Caribbean there’s a real chance that Hegseth would murder us all.

Merry Christmas From Sydney! 🎄🌴

We attended a lovely service last night and sang my favorite Christmas carol (O Holy Night)— feel free to share the powerful anti-bigotry lyrics with any Christians in your life who need the reminder:

Husband: Honey, just want to check, someone who is Norwegian is from Norway, right?

Me (staring incredulously): Where else could Norwegian possibly be indicating?

Husband (sheepish): Ok, just wanted to check before sending this email.

Me: 😐😵‍💫🫠

Wait, you’re telling me they seriously went with “the President is too fragile and feeble to be shaking hands all day without massive bruising?” 🤯
Q: Can you explain what's going on with the bandages on Trump's hand?

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.

Evidently when WhiskyLeaks said “I want you” to use AI, he really meant YOU (and everybody else with an internet connection)!

Something every 2026/28 Dem should commit to is investigations of any company that did deals with Trump. A kind of forward guidance to get companies to think twice in advance of what’s coming.
Fox News will applaud this but can you imagine their coverage if President Biden hatched a secret plan to take over Fox News and revamp its programming to be nicer to him
New WSJ reporting: "During a December visit to Washington, David Ellison offered assurances to Trump administration officials that if he bought Warner, he'd make sweeping changes to CNN, a common target of President Trump's ire, people familiar with the matter said..."

You heard it here first* folks, Trump thinks Americans needn’t be able to give our kids as many pencils as Chinese families can afford; also we’re back to senile old men in government telling us how many dolls our kids should have.

*technically, you heard it here at least 5 hours after the fact.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

I was about to hit send on “E tu, Jonas?” (which I think @usdhuga.bsky.social would agree would have been a banger) before I noticed that MS has a new Tesla analyst. 🧐

Did Jonas become CFO at a Musk company or something?

Affordability concerns are real because:
- Tariffs raise import costs
- Deportations make it harder to harvest crops
- Attacking Obamacare hikes premiums
- Budget deficits raise mortgage payments
- Undermining the Fed risks inflation.

It's not a hoax; it's a policy choice.
