Chasing the votes of those who'll never vote for you while simultaneously losing the votes of those who may is a rare gift.

Overheard in the supermarket. Two teenagers.
1: 'Where's Dad?'
2 (with ineffable weariness): 'In the cheese aisle, having the time of his life.'

The thing is we've known that housing the homeless is cheaper than neglect, we've known that Ubi is effective at eliminating poverty, we've known that heavily subsidized housing and education leads people into the middle class, we've known all of these things in some cases for 70 years.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

New YouGov polling. That’s a peak for the Greens. Amazing how a good communicator with vision can turn around a party’s fortunes.

RFM: 27% (+1)
LAB: 17% (-3)
CON: 17% (=)
GRN: 16% (+1)
LDM: 15% (=)

Also Labour’s lowest in a YouGov poll.

There is nothing that highlights more strikingly how pathetically far the United States has fallen than that its president imposes a dress code on a hero who is fighting against a despotic aggressor for the very existence of his own country.

Trump is not fit to lace Zelensky’s boots.
It’s absurd that the White House cares more about whether Zelensky will suit up than the toddlers and teenagers Putin killed a few hours ago in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. But if he does wear a suit… make it a tan one.

The Labour Party is currently:
– Providing intelligence and material support to a right-wing religious ethnostate carrying out a genocide
– Arresting pensioners for holding signs
– Legally classifying a significant portion the public as terrorists
– Attempting to ban trans people from public life
You’re saying Labour is a far right party. I’m saying Labour isn’t a far right party. One of us is spouting utter nonsense and I’m afraid it’s you.

Come on, Labour. The country is crying out for better. We’re sick of this ugly rightwing agenda. It brings nothing but failure.
It’s disloyal to your voters and to the country. You’ve got power and time. Use them.
