Bluesky has overtaken Twitter/X as the highest social engagement metric for the entire publication corpus of some universities.

Here's all the attention for all research from Rhodes University, ZA. In October 2025 Bluesky mentioned their research more than X/Twitter.

What The Hell Is Going On, a thread:

I’ve seen some thinkpieces and posts about Portland protests that fail to understand the long-term hyperspecificity of Portland culture/humor, and frame it as a sort of shitposting meme-pilled ironic thing. Which is wrong.

So I’m gonna give you my breakdown.

We keep each other safe. If you see ICE or if you know someone who’s been detained, call the PIRC hotline:
1-888-622-1510.

Make sure you’re using the CLEAR model (Count, Location, Equipment, Activity, and Report Time) when you call.

I actually don’t think we should victim blame protestors for what the feds are going to do. We’ve seen them do it to perfectly peaceful protestors.

People need to be wise, use discretion, and center those most impacted, and I truly detest this rhetoric.

IMHO, these are all inextricably intertwined:

1) authoritarianism
2) eugenics & racism & sexism
3) vandalism of public goods, property, and services
4) pseudo-science & anti-science

They feed into one another and they never travel alone. Find one, and you'll find elements of all the others.
That Trump and Trumpism are fascist doesn’t explain the sheer vandalism of unleashing mass murdering mayhem via RFK to replace medical/scientific institutions of immense value and prestige with medieval peasant superstitions. That is a criminal madness facilitated by but above and beyond fascism.

If you are a bioethicist currently thinking about this, DM me!
It's uncomforably explicable as eugenics. They appear more than comfortable rolling back medical protections in ways that tend toward mass death for the fragile.

Crazy how this looks exactly like how the Proud Boys roll into town
ICE raided the Westlake Home Depot in Los Angeles this morning. LATU organizers snapped some photos from the raid—one sticks out: ICE agents rolling up in a Penske rental truck.

Wonder where they got the idea😬

Trying to avoid detection? Is this policy now? Are they now doing roving gangs in this?
