It doesn’t seem hard to guess who’s leaking to the NYT based on the spin that’s put on the story.

This. Being restricted by shame and stigma does reduce how blatant and extreme racism can be.
there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!
For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.

That’s why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed — because Young Republicans weren’t radical enough.

Judicial tyranny is kind of where we are.
"Obedience must of course be secured for the command of a court. . . . But courts should be explicit and precise in their commands and should only then be strict in exacting compliance. To be both strict and indefinite is a kind of judicial tyranny."

Data point for a turning point in Israel:

Ehud Olmert was old-school Likud, then followed hardliner Ariel Sharon to Kadima. After Sharon's stroke, Olmert became PM & led the 2006 Lebanon War.

It's behind a paywall. It's important to share it in this thread.

I basically agree with you on this. I think you trade young assets for a big star when it's like the final piece you need. My dislike aside, he also doesn't make sense for where the team is at now.
He’s a top 3 player. And will be for a 3-4 more years. I just don’t see how the Nets can offer the Bucks enough return and still field a team that gets out of the first round. It would still be a rebuild and Giannis wouldn’t be interested in starting over from scratch.
