Molly (our new dog) and I were chilling on the couch this morning for a bit before I had to go get ready for work. Fry (the cat) walked over and decided he wanted lap time as well. For having known each other less than a week everyone was amazingly chill and we had a good interaction.

Meet Molly. We adopted her from a rescue and she was dropped off to us this past Saturday. She is (most likely) a Treeing Walker Coon hound or similar. She is setting in alright, a bit of whining during the day but blessedly sleeps through the night.

So I knew I messed up my knee landing wrong last night during our grappling class but I ALSO either messed up my wrist at the same time and didn't notice it and/or just slept wrong on it so that's fun. #HEMA over 40 is great! ⚔️😵

I have an app on my phone that lets me know when the ISS is overhead. I was able to use the antenna I made and a 35$ handheld to hear signals from the space stations repeater. No astronauts, but was able to hear signals from people in VA and OH that were trying to make contact. Very cool #hamradio

My #HEMA club started a new class last night... Collar and elbow wrestling ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collar-...) most of us don't have the official jackets so are making due with BJJ Gi's (because they are cheap and easy to find 😆) Was a lot of fun though I am sore this morning.

Guess it’s a bit of a #HamRadio rite of passage to make your own antennas. I have done two so far. A cloth one using faraday tape for 70cm and a “tape measure Yagi” for 2 meters. Surprisingly both work pretty well. I even drilled a hole on the tape measure one and threaded it to mount on a tripod.

Going to lots of HEMA tournaments teaches you a little bit about how laws work, because every tournament ruleset is written by 1-5 guys running a non-profit (read: broke) school out of the shittiest gym in town, and you get to watch their judges get hit by out-of-context problems on the regular.

We had a big #hema class last night which was great. Now that it's not 100 degrees in the gym I think people are more likely to attend (hence the fact we are looking for a new space with climate control). I also geared up and did some full on sparring for the firs time in what feels like forever.
