Yeah....the worst hits I have taken have been because I moved into what ended up being a thrust and basically hit myself twice as hard as it would have been otherwise.

HEMA guy here 😅my club has done some dagger classes and workshops and the first thing they teach is there really are no winners in a knife fight, you just hope to be less injured than the other guy.

We have done some random weapon pair up sparring during birthday gauntlets in the past. Some are a lot of fun.

Woo! Congrats! You can have plenty of fun with the nylon trainers but there really is nothing like getting to use steel for the first time in sparring.

I've only had my tech license for about a month so this is my first try at SSTV stuff. This is one of my better results using a HT (UV-5R) and tape measure Yagi antenna that I built. Had mixed luck with my phone but using my laptop gave me way better results.

I just do non-armored HEMA fencing with the padded jacket and helmet and all that and usually try and get my wife to come along to tournament's to act as she calls it my loyal "Squife" or squire wife :)

It's going to be a weekly class for a month or two. I guess they make specific collar and elbow jackets just for this but they are expensive and I you can get the BJJ Gi's for like 40$. I tailored mine last weekend and cut the sleeves down so it's short sleeved now.
