Exclusive: ICE officials plan to spend $100 million to recruit gun-rights supporters and military enthusiasts through online influencers and a geo-targeted ad campaign, part of what the agency called a “wartime recruitment” strategy to hire thousands of officers, according to an internal document.

Occurs to me that Trump's entire regime consolidation strategy is to persuade everyone through displays of force that the regime is already consolidated and there's no point in resisting. Which I don't think will work, but also shows how important public acts of noncompliance are.

This sounds petty and near meaningless, but the reality is the institutions that mainstream politicians hold so sacred are clearly capitulating to Republicans and Democrats need to accept they need to delegitimize those institutions. Columbia is no longer a prestigious university. Say so.

On Sunday, after less than a day of protests, Pasadena hotels kicked out ICE, then the city of Glendale ended their agreement with ICE for a detention place, people are learning about Waymo being used for surveillance…SoCal is stacking up wins against fascism & developing solidarity. 🇲🇽🇲🇽

D-day anniversary is a good opportunity to recall that there were many powerful American fascists who wanted the US to support the other side in WWII & came quite close to getting their way.

The US was, and remains, close to 50/50 on fascism. Witness current events.

The best part about this argument, which differs very little from what some people was actual power in Democratic circles believe, is that the marginalized group you’re throwing under the bus is still obligated to vote for you enthusiastically, and when you lose the election it’s their fault.

McConnell abused the filibuster to make America worse. Schumer is refusing to use the filibuster to... accomplish what, exactly?
