I think I need a Bluesky break. I need to turn my efforts toward other venues for a bit. You can still find me elsewhere if you’re interested—or follow my art blog using RSS.

I am 2/3 through Robin Hobb’s Assassin’s Apprentice and it is *bleak*. I realize it’s 30 years old, and we recognize trauma and abuse differently now, but oof…

Please please tell me there’s some justice coming. Please. Because I can’t use this series as escapism if the cruelty is the point.

When you use an artifically generated image to promote your work, or as part of your work, you come across as artificial yourself.

We all know how the sausage is made. Using those tools is choice, no matter how desperate you are, your budget limitations, or time. It’s a choice that reflects on you.

I have to cancel my livestream today. I’m not feeling well, and I have a lot of stuff to do behind the scenes. I’ll return to streaming on Monday, the 17th, 1-4:pm PST when I’ll begin a new project!

It's been taken down, but this sort of thing boils my blood.

My family wonders why I'm so loud about genAI, because they find it cute. GenAI feeds on the IP of real, hardworking artists in order to produce mass amounts of crap.

Glad the thing was suspended at least. Keep being loud, folks.
The freaking nerve. I don’t want to advertise them but they have other projects that they probably stole too

Idk if you can report it too or find them but god knows I really crave violence rn

Test print of a 3d printed, table-top, A-frame, NOAI sign. Folds mostly flat, stable when standing.

Thoughts on size? Too big? Too small? (~4.74x7 inches, 12x17cm)

Do the colors on the hinge bother you? (It's simpler to print with the weird colors there, and I'm trying to keep it simple.)

To those using Kickstarter: before backing a project, make sure it's legit. See below: Canadian artist @kness.bsky.social had their work stolen, images generated with the help of AI. 😢
Well this is not a nice start to my week. Someone reported to me that a kickstarter uses my pictures and it’s really sickening because they’re ALL mine with FREAKING AI bg. I already filed a copyright claim but it makes me sick.

A dear family member passed away this week. As I painted through my emotions, layers and layers of paint, this scene came to the forefront. A moment in time, echoes of memories, and the stillness of the moment.

Using ai for reference is one way to legitimise it but also will make you worse in time. If you care about the art you make you should care about what influences it and where your ideas come from. The world is massive with tens of thousands of years of art and culture and history you can learn about
PSA if you care about your support going to art that is influenced by AI
