A dear family member passed away this week. As I painted through my emotions, layers and layers of paint, this scene came to the forefront. A moment in time, echoes of memories, and the stillness of the moment.

I want quite satisfied with the last painting. A couple of glazes later, it’s getting there.

Each layer of this piece represents a step away from its origins. It began as a raw, emotional response to the chaos of our current political landscape. The process became an act of erasure and transformation.
