Artists! The US Copyright Office has changed the rules, starting in Feb. we can register up to 20 published 2D works of art in a single application, making it way more affordable!
Important as registration is needed to fight theft in court or the CCB.

December's collector lino print process is up on Patreon as a public post. I'm really into this sage green ink I picked up recently, I need to play with this one more.

I kind of want to expand briefly on something really important to keep in mind;
It's far better to have a smaller audience that is invested in you than have a huge audience that doesn't really care OR doesn't see anything you post. This is why going purely by numbers can be really deceiving.
I'm assuming that a solid 40% of twitter are bots. A lot of the accounts that followed me were probably bots. No one saw what I posted, I couldn't "play" the algorithm, I was defeated. At least here it makes sense. Interact, be a part of the community, and grow slowly with real people.

🪽 QRP with your wing art! 🪽

(This was a sort of value study of the Monteverde Angel I did for an online class years and years ago, and it actually got flagged and removed from my shred post on Facebook.

That was the beginning of the end of my relationship with Meta's platforms.)

I got my art into a number of gallery shows, featured in a gift shop, and sold enough art to cover my rent for a couple of months.

I worked on 7 theater shows, from directing to props (and won a theater award for the props on one) to stage managing to set dressing.

Reading & writing has kept me alive this year.

Somehow, it’s been my most productive year as an author.

Here’s a guide to what I’ve published in 2025, in case you’ve lost track.

I’ve been listening to Josh Harley perform @kdedwardsnc.bsky.social ’s Tarot Sequence, and it’s so much fun!

It’s astoundingly nice to read an epic Urban Fantasy series with gay and queer lead characters. The world building hits hard and takes time to settle out, but wow it’s good! Big thumbs up!

If I see that someone doesn't share other people's work or interacts I don't follow. I think we should all support and help each other
I don't get people who super curate their pages to not rt or promote other artists due to "clutter" - there's nothing more real to me as an artist than to have my creative works shown alongside other even more beautiful ones! I think it just highlights how wonderfully individualistic we are!!

Per Craig Ferguson: When you're about to say something, ask yourself

1. Does this need to be said

2. Does this need to be said by me

3. Does this need to be said by me right now

It's amazing how asking these will get keep you out of trouble (that is, if you actually have sense to begin with)
I’ve been trying very hard to not be an asshole as I get older. Often, that just means keeping my mouth shut and nodding along.

There's a complicated conversation to have about how rural decline, isolation, poverty, and poor access to basic supports, including health care, are contributing to a spike in suicides among older white men in rural California.

In Trinity County, isolation, pain, and limited healthcare drive gun suicides among seniors. Health officials plan prevention programs to address the crisis.

“How can you suddenly dislike art when you find out it’s made by AI?”

For the same reason I can dislike art when I find out the employees were overworked and underpaid.

Because I care about people.

Carry this into 2026 like
enchanted armour
Again going to bang my drum:

*Even if* gen AI excelled at tasks
*Even if* gen AI had abuse-guardrails
*Even if* gen AI helped the environment & medicine

It’s still built on scraping the world’s creative labour without consent.

Gen AI is poisoned at the root.
It seems there are exactly two kinds of stories about generative AI:
1) wildly exuberant stories about what this stuff will do sometime really soon (trust us!), and
2) stories like this about how some actual use of gen AI fails fantastically

oh, wait, I forgot:
3) gen AI is pretty good at fraud
