Prelim sketch to finished artwork.
Oil on canvas. 25”x36”.
A friend got this for me in the winter of 2024 and I haven’t fallen in love with a game on this level since Symphony of the Night.
It’s my introduction to the series and I’m holding off on Automata until I 100% Replicant.
It’s cozy, immersive and beautiful in every aspect. Art, story and music.

24 year-old me was just finding my legs as a self-taught illustrator and this was a piece that helped shape a lot of work that came after it.

Me and dad at Whispering Pines trailer-park circa 1984.
With my hobbit-ass feet and doorknob knees.
We weren’t there long as we moved around western NC a lot.
“Why is your dad so tan?”
He was a hot tar roofer and constantly out in the North Carolina sun. I, clearly, was a phantasm of some sort.

This is so many light layers of pencil layered the same way oil glazes are used.
I’m not sure why I decided on the bronze/patina instead of stone, but I’m still happy with her.

Rough sketch for a private commissioned logo.
Pen and marker on vellum.
I’m not an inker, but this particular piece needs to be done in an EC Comics kind of style, so I’m gonna need some practice with that medium to get what we want with this. No, I don’t condone biting the heads off chickens.
