For the Disability community, losing Alice Wong is like losing Ursula Le Guin or Octavia Butler. She was a powerhouse, a pioneer, and a mentor to many. She taught me so much. And always reminded me what we were fighting towards, as well as against. I miss her clarity, bravery, and joy.
Alice Wong
Alice Wong had an outsized impact on Disability justice. As a community organiser, activist, mentor, and co-conspirator, as writer, editor, and friend, she is irreplaceable.

Gonna start responding to "How are you?"/"What are you up to" with, "Y'know, just owling. Doing general owl things."
Real impressive narration in this one. Just totally misread the entire situation. 🪶

A hard truth is that the search for artificial general intelligence as a commercial tool is fundamentally a reproduction of slavery. Not because computers are people or anything so silly, but because of the impetus: To acquire the products of humanity without the need for a human to consent.

“$37 MILLION.”
“How much did you pay in taxes.”
“2-3 MILLION. Don’t blame me, change the tax code.”
“Go @ZohranKMamdani !”
“If he wins I’ll leave.”🤔

PSA: It’s not “social media” souring young people on capitalism. It’s greed.

#MuseumBums loves the story of the Lucifer Statues of Liége Cathedral 👍🏛️🍑

~1848, Josef Geef was tasked to sculpt Lucifer. Unfortunately Lucifer was too sexy for the church. Without paying him, they commissioned his brother to replace it, so Guillaume Geef made his Lucifer *even* sexier 😁
