I know this is pedantic, but Kim Davis was not "jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses." She was jailed for contempt of court because she refused to follow a court order (she had stopped issuing all marriage licenses). NYT makes it sound like the Woke Police broke down her door.

A friend of mine in Chicago just shared a video on IG of an ICE operation near her house. The operation happened just minutes before the neighborhood Halloween parade. ICE used tear gas and multiple parents had to wash their kids' (including toddlers) eyes out.

What's worse to me than the Dem House leader's last-minute endorsement of the Dem mayoral nominee is that Jeffries/Schumer have said nothing about Cuomo -- a longtime Dem! -- losing the primary and then running a sore loser campaign that was overtly negative. They treated this as normal!

It is hard to overstate how misguided and dangerous this ruling is. Even where protests involve acts of violence, deploying the military is illegal unless that violence reaches a level where state and local law enforcement are completely overwhelmed. 16/23
