👏 👏 This kind of work (and not pro bono!) is needed all across London, addressing road danger and street design so that places work well for people running local shops, and everyone living nearby as they make their local journeys.
We offered some pro bono help to look at tricky issues for @bettertransport.bsky.social's #BetterTransportWeek and so this morning @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social met @clairemaccy.bsky.social for a nose around Herne Hill Junction with discussions about looking at the local transport hierarchy and

Highlight of my week (and it's been an amazing week!) meeting Mark and examining the mess of Herne Hill Junction. Some really great advice on how to prioritise action in terms of user hierarchy. Thank you! @rezinachowdhury.bsky.social @jamesmcash.bsky.social
It has been quite the busy day out for me today! Good to catch up with @clairemaccy.bsky.social for a look at this traffic sewer of a junction that works for nobody!

It’s national walking month..

☀️ And whilst we encourage families to try walking to school in the sunshine…

🦓 We mainly encourage local authorities & the government to give children safe routes to school.

Cargos, canines, kids & councillors..

It was all happening at last Friday’s Cargos & Cakes in Brockwell park.

We had local families & those from as far as Catford come to try different bikes and find out more.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along.

We’re thrilled to have won the Climate & Green spaces award at the #lambethcivicawards25

We spent 5 years on a complex campaign for an ambitious school street, which is now in place & providing a blue print for other big school zones in the borough.

Here's a solid example of #carspreading affecting public services. We need to discourage monster SUVs and pickups in our cities. Impractical and unnecessary 🙄
Our waste trucks sometimes can’t reach certain streets because of parked cars blocking entrances. This means bins can’t be collected, causing delays for everyone.

Please park considerately and keep entrances clear so our teams can do their job.

Just like diesel engines, #carspreading in urban areas is a failure of national regulation and we are reliant on bold city leaders to act.

Fantastic stunt from these Sheffield parents, once again highlighting the dangers in walking to school.

“Two thirds of parents had seen a near miss on the way to school”.

School is a legal obligation- families shouldn’t have to risk their lives every day to get there.
