It would be terrible if it comes to this, but protesters could just dress like this and chaos would ensue.

I don't remotely think it's a good idea, but there is a reason actual uniforms exist.
Fucking surreal that people dressed like this and carrying assault rifles are permitted to kidnap people off our streets

It's wild to be so out of touch that you think everything isn't being litigated (and mostly successfully!)

If you see this post a ship.

The NS Savannah (1959). The only merchant/passenger nuclear powered ship. And, an incredible example of mid-century design inside and out.

"when people cite passages out of the old testament..."
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

The reason the Constitution is cumbersome for what you want to do is that it was expressly written to prevent you from doing it.

"Live Free or Die"
WOW: State leaders say NH Governor Kelly Ayotte lied about her knowledge of ICE's plan to build a giant human warehouse in the state.

Documents obtained by @aclu-nh.bsky.social show the state government has known for weeks about the Merrimack facility bc ICE is actively pursuing legal approval.
State Knew ICE Plans for Merrimack As Early As Jan. 12
Documents obtained by the New Hampshire ACLU show state officials have known for weeks that Immigration and Customs Enforcement plans to turn a Merrimack warehouse into a prison.

House now voting on the Republican rule (procedural measure) to bring the funding bill to the floor. All Dems present and voting against. R leaders were broadcasting a lot of confidence about winning this vote, which once again was misplaced. Likely they get it eventually but it's not going well rn

A note on attendance- this is the 11th time House Dems have achieved full attendance in 2026 (out of 51 votes); we had just 1 on absence on another 8. R's have had full attendance 0 times and 1 absence just once. Attendance is a huge factor with the party breakdown so close, and Dems are crushing it

Three rules in FBI firearm training:

1. Always point your weapon downrange
2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
3. Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot

Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

This and the following post happened to end up adjacent in my TL.

I just don't buy that dems are bad communicating compared to Rs. It's more about how this stuff is reported and disseminated.
Q: You're a constitutional lawyer. Can you detail the 4th Amendment protections someone has if ICE approaches their home w/an administrative warrant?

MIKE JOHNSON: When ICE goes to execute a warrant, it's issued by an immigration judge, & that is a sufficient legal authority to go apprehend someone

BREAKING: Judge Jia Cobb issues a TRO blocking DHS Sec Noem's Jan 8 memo purporting to require 7-day notices by members of Congress to perform oversight visits to immigration detention facilities.

The effect is that congressional oversight visits are allowed on request, as is required by Sec. 527.

I'm excited about the quality of Chinese cars like BYD. At the same time, about 1/4 of their profits are government subsidies (Tesla is about the same - Ford is not far behind).

Everyone has a long way to catch up with Toyota.
