I used to get very frustrated before Marriage Ref having to constantly answer the same basic things re same sex marriage/queer people and getting the same feeling today about cycling. People really don't want to accept that cars kill people and everyone has the right to move around in public safely

What a wildly stupid idea.

Mandatory helmets and high viz is a proven remedy to reduce the number of people cycling. It effectively kills off things like Dublin Bikes.

That's why no other EU country does anything like this. Pure madness.

The fact that this is what the government is moving so fast on is deeply depressing to me. A reactionary populist response to a problem that already has legislation around it.

Our government just refuse to do the hard, right, thing.

Honoured to deputise for The Lord Mayor of Dublin at this huge step for road safety as we got our first red light camera at a level crossing. This is a partnership between Irish Rail, An Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council.

But it won't be. The draft strategy has been with Seán Canney for 9 months. Even if it's approved soon, there's nothing to suggest that it won't be implemented at the same glacial pace. Meanwhile, they've cancelled the pilot which was supposed to deliver cameras last year.

I’ve just seen an ad from the HSE about calling 999 if you suspect somebody is having a stroke, and it is absolutely horror movie material from start to finish.

I was convinced that somebody was going to start vomiting pea soup from about 2 seconds in.

Not surprising that a minister in this lazy government thinks that the solution to a complex problem is to force cyclists to wear magic clothes so he doesn't have to contemplate all the other, far more effective, measures.

Cool LLM use case. Create a project (or whatever your LLM of choice uses) and upload every single instruction manual for every product in your home. If there is a field for custom instructions, tell it to use the manuals.

Then you can be like "why does my fridge do this?" and you will find out.

The only reason the government are dragging their heels on this is because they’re trying to figure out how to turn it into an argument for their Porn Register That Definitely Is Not A Porn Register Even Though It Registers Porn Looked At Using Your ID legislation.

I am once again reminding you all that the UK government introduced an Online Safety Act that is effectively a porn ban on most adult porn websites, but is dithering over banning a website that is actually creating child porn.

No safe road speeds
No restructuring of the RSA
No automatic camera enforcement
