Just like in other countries, the idea is to make sure that if they want to try a second coup attempt, the military, CIA, FBI, Secret Service, etc will support it. Last time (Jan 6), the military/CIA and Secret Service were neutral and the FBI ended up helping to prosecute it.
Purging dissent in the security services and giving loyalists power is something we *instantly* recognize in other contexts.
EXCLUSIVE: Candidates for national security roles in the new administration have been posed loyalty questions, such as: Was Jan. 6 an inside job, and Was the 2020 presidential election stolen? They were asked to give straight "yes" or "no" answers. Here's our story.

New type of U.S. Treasury default just dropped: the fascist clowns in charge accidentally/intentionally declaring some of the debt invalid.

Their goal- tank OPM, crash the market, decimate the economy & destabilize global trade to completely devalue the dollar ; thereby forcing the globe into Crypto. Every destructive chaotic action they make becomes crystal clear if you understand this. Know the play, create your offense.

When this bubble bursts, here’s what happens:

📉 401(k)s and pensions crash
🏦 Banks freeze withdrawals
💰 The U.S. dollar weakens
🔥 Inflation surges
💼 Mass layoffs begin

This isn’t some distant threat. Your paycheck, savings, and job are on the line.

Add “Default on your debt” to the mix and we have a perfect storm
If I was a foreign power wanting to cripple US power, I'd:

1. Purge intel agencies + expose agents
2. Mess w/Treasury
3. Politicize military
4. Turn off foreign aid
5. Shutter anti-corruption + election interference teams
6. Sow discord with allies

Wait, I'm getting an update...

Let's cut to the chase here: Republicans are preparing to work with Trump to selectively cut funding — from medical research and wildfire disaster relief to Social Security and Medicare — in blue states that refuse to bend to their will.

It's economic warfare, used like international sanctions.
Look at this garbage MAGA hypocrite Senator.

She wants Musk/Trump’s brutal and devastating cuts hitting medical research hitting all other states just not her backyard in Alabama.

F*** off Karen.

Vance is pushing idea that Trump is a king with unchecked power, not even accountable to courts and the rulings of judges. This is setting up the Trump administration to break with court rulings, creating a constitutional crisis and pushing the US into full blown dictatorship.

Vance is openly calling for the end of the constitutional order here, which is a betrayal of his oath of office. It is as plain as day now, Loper Bright ain’t gonna save you
Interestingly, in Loper Bright vs Raimondo, the conservative majority on SCOTUS ruled just last year that the judiciary can in fact overrule regulatory decisions made by the executive branch especially when those decisions are not specified by Congress.

I don't know how to drive home to people that the republican house and senate HAVE NO LINE

There's nothing trump can do that will get them to say no.

Stop thinking "surely they can't let THIS go"

They can. They have. They will.
I think there’s some truth to this.

But Musk / Trump have to roll out their coup quickly. And as they go cutting NIH, defense and agriculture they are going to run into further internal questions about whether GOP Sen can let these things go. Even the House, one has to expect. What will they do?
People are delusional about what happens if Musk and Trump ignore the law, the Constitution, and court orders. Everyone is acting like this is a standoff over USAID and a few other programs, and then we'll go back to politics as normal.

It’s time to start wrapping our heads around the real possibility that collective action and even a general strike are required.

Musk is working fast to solidify control, do as much damage as possible, and party “opposition” is not up to the fight.
