Elections are 3+ years away, Greens are surging in the polls, and there are already elements of UK academia pre-emptively bending the knee to Reform, which is not even in power.

US unis that submitted still got screwed over. UK academia can choose to learn from that or get destroyed by fascism.
The vice-chancellor of Cambridge has said her university is trying to build bridges with Reform UK amid fears of a Trump-style backlash against elite institutions if Nigel Farage's party forms the next government. Professor Deborah Prentice revealed that counterparts at Russell Group universities had been "meeting with key people from Reform" and that "we've had people" doing the same, according to leaked comments made last week.

This happened *at a university* in Gaza.

And yet our institutions still collaborate with Israeli schools.
During their prolonged displacement, Nadia and Ahmad’s spent three days, from 28 to 30 January 2024, in a classroom at al-Azhar University in Gaza City, where they and their families were imprisoned, and individuals among them were tortured, humiliated, and even physically mutilated by Israeli forces.  The families were grouped together with dozens of others in the university. Men, women, and children were separated; the men were searched, beaten, and tortured, while the women and children were detained nearby, within earshot of the sounds of torture. During days of torture and abuse, an Israeli soldier carved a Star of David into Ahmad’s back with a knife. Another soldier carved a smiley face into Nadia’s father’s neck.

Since October 2023, Israel’s infrastructure of displacement in Gaza has consisted of so-called ‘warnings’, ‘evacuation orders’, ‘safe corridors’, and ‘safe’ or ‘humanitarian zones’. FA’s research has revealed these to be little more than performative displays of compliance with long-standing humanitarian and legal norms. In practice, these mechanisms of forced displacement sow terror among the population of Gaza, as unreliable and often uncontradictory orders issued by the Israeli military leave civilians with impossible choices, and surrounded by danger, even after the ‘ceasefire’ of October 2025. In this narrative study, Forensic Architecture documents the story of Nadia* and Ahmad*, a young couple from Beit Hanoun whose experiences tell an individual story of how this ‘humanitarian violence’ unfolds.

r/Teachers 37m ago TheOne4Figures Being in College for Education right now is Horrifying Another AI / ChatGPT Post 🤖 I am a student observer (I student teach next fall) for high school history ed. Right now in college, we have a full class dedicated to using technology in the classroom. However the entire semester was almost fully dedicated to using ai in the classroom. Using ai to make lessons, being told it’s ok to write research papers with them, being told ChatGPT IS a valid source TO CITE, being told to create our college lesson plans using ai, basically being told to use ai for everything. On top of this, our professor has told us she uses ai all the time, including for writing research papers and making our assignments. Every time we pointed out the mistakes ai makes, she would tell us how ai isn’t perfect so just double check it. Oh yea, our professor? She’s our DEAN OF EDUCATION AT OUR COLLEGE. On Nov. 29 1864, the Sand Creek massacre occurred when US troops attacked a peaceful gathering of Cheyenne and Arapaho people. They killed between 170-230 unarmed people, torturing them, then scalping and mutilating the victims. Children, women & elders were especially targeted.
