I can't think of anything more oppressive then an a rigid definition of the term 'woman'. These people are truly deranged

This feels quite hollow when the court also decided they didn't need to hear from a single transgender person over the course of their case.
Lord Hodge adds that the Equality Act gives transgender people other, separate protections under the law. He says the judgement should not be read as a triumph for one group in society over another.

I don't want women to be legally defined. Any definition will be used to oppress and control us.

The concept of "sex-based rights" is one of the most insane things I've ever seen. You do not gain rights based on which sex you belong too. If you believe in equality, no sex is entitled to more rights than any other. We don't have "race-based rights" either. That would be apartheid.

Before anyone in NZ (looking at you in particular, NZ First politicians) decides they want to jump on the disappointing judgment on trans rights in the UK & say its should apply here:

The judgment relies on very specific statutory interactions which do not even close to exist in New Zealand law.

The law determines what is legal. It does not determine what is true; what is just; what is morally and ethically sound and defensible. The history of law is the history of the legal system being wrong on these grounds.

Trans women are women.

regardless of today’s outcome, it is morally indefensible to have a court ruling on something that affects a population, using evidence and findings that did not consult a single member of that population.

Not-a-lawyer-but

The immensely frustrating thing here is that this opinion hinges on the immutability of sex (to tie all trans people to our "birth sex") while also acknowledging the mutability of sex to justify the exclusion of transitioned men from single-sex spaces.

Degendering for everyone!
i have ten pages left but the whole thing is basically like this, lmao. "we're exiling trans women from society for being men and we're exiling trans men from society for being trans." you guys i found where 4chan migrated to

To be clear, we do have plans for scaling, we just kinda expected more than a couple days notice before getting blasted with a million new users a day.
The team is rapidly deploying fixes and new software to adapt. More servers in the mail.

We’re making cheeseburgers for Thanksgiving this year.

No one really likes turkey that much. Cheeseburgers rock. And fuck it. There are no rules anymore.

We are all agents of chaos now.

The bad news: Many people don’t get enough iron in their diet.

The good news: One ounce of dark chocolate has 3.37 mg of iron

Ladies, that’s 5.5 ounces a day that you clearly need.

Sorry guys, you’ll get your daily allotment with 2.5.

I was a volunteer at the hikoi, at Waitangi Park. Not sure if it's been reported on any media but there was so much aroha - Muslims For Te Tiriti gave us hundreds of curry meals, and as I was leaving, the Cambodian community gave us over 1000 meals. Aroha before politics. THAT was the hikoi!
