I don't know the criminal standard specifically but Linehan did say *in court* that he was motivated by the victim's status as a trans person. If a clear statement of explicit prejudice isn't enough then you need a new standard.

And all this, not to start down the path of the correct puberty but, to pause being forcibly transitioned in to the wrong puberty

These are 50 steps to ask “do you want this medication to give you time to make sure you are making the right choice rather than your body poisoning itself?”
The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.

It was Labour’s choice to allow Kishwer Falkner a 12 month extension.

It was Labour’s choice to weaponise the Cass Review against trans kids.

They created this disgusting, amoral mess that’s metastasising into a full-blown assault on human rights.

Never forget.

“on article 8 of the ECHR in particular the right to family life ..we want to constrain in legislation the way that that is applied in immigration cases” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood tells Sky’s Trevor Philips

Who would have imagined we would ever hear this from a Labour government

One trans woman has competed at the Olympic level, I believe, in the 2+ decades trans women could have. She didn’t win any medals. The association the media want you to make here is that trans women are dominating women’s sports while also continuing a toxic narrative about women’s appearances
Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

Yesterday I was waiting at a crossing and a young girl said “Look, rainbow shoes” and her mum said “and look at her bright green coat” and as I started crossing the girl said “and her flower bag” and I felt like the coolest woman in the world in that moment ☺️

For @teenvogue.com I wrote about the death of trans athlete Lia Smith and how trans youth kind themselves with central pillars of their lives being constantly ripped away from them because of politics. www.teenvogue.com/story/politi...

Ask not what rights you're ready for trans people to lose so that the left wins. Ask yourself what rights you're ready to lose, yourself, so that the left wins. And if the answer is "I don't see how me losing rights is necessary for the left to win?", go take a long walk on a short pier.

This is truly horrific and somehow acknowledges that misgendering is abuse but not against trans people
5. Confronted with an argument that this allows students to bully cis students by misgendering them as well, the judges said that such conduct would be barred. Misgendering cisgender students would be "ridiculing their physical characteristics." But apparently not when its done to trans students.

I’ve been having fun painting over cards from other games I don’t play any more to make tokens for magic. I’ve seen some crazy paint overs and these are not that but it’s still really fun and relaxing to do

Bingo. The only problem I have with being trans is the way cis people treat me. I would never go back and I regret absolutely nothing besides not doing it sooner.
despite all the fear mongering about trans people and the attempts to abandon and actively harm us from both political parties in the US, transitioning is still the greatest decision i’ve ever made, only regret i have is not doing it younger, and that it has only made my life infinitely better

Denying trans people who we are is straight up killing us. They keep talking about biological reality while actually ignoring it to our detriment
Just got a call from a lovely but very nervous Dr, who advised I wouldn't be routinely screened for breast cancer because I'm not indicated as being "biologically female" on the central NHS database and my biology wouldn't indicate I'm at risk.

My records have been altered, which is upsetting.
