I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

Thought I made it out of the woods with my dogs health. I'm worried that he could pass before the end of the year now. I'm not ready to lose him. I never will be ready, but right now just feels so hard. I sobbed on my lunch break. I just want a little more time with him.

Going to try and finish my current cozy fall read while working through Epic Earth.
After that, I will try to get through my backlog and maybe start one of the longer "classic" type books on my shelf like Dune or the Dark Tower.

every time I try to get back into ASOIAF and reread the books, I am just hit with the psychic damage of TWOW's absence. I remember finishing ADWD in 2013 (mind you the book came out in 2011) and thinking we had 3-5 years of a wait. I gave up around 2020, and that was 5 years ago now.
