HEY FRIENDS!! Did you know that Australia - #2 in the world for data centre investment - is now formally missing its climate targets thanks in large part to the resulting surge in power demand?

It's massive news - @crikey.com.au let me NERD OUT to explain why:

I just called two of my Democratic Senators and told them that their free speech will also be no more if they allow MAGA extremists to destroy Section 230. You can’t be an ally to those you promise to protect if you’re willing to take away the shield that protects our digital rights from lawsuits!
“The powers that choose what speech is protected in the United States exist on multiple levels. But it is the state level that is most concerning if Section 230 falls” - @liaholland.bsky.social

Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

Here's all the attention for all research from Rhodes University, ZA. In October 2025 Bluesky mentioned their research more than X/Twitter.

Rough math: 12.3% of Americans (41.7 mil) are about to lose SNAP. Many food banks produce 3 meals per $1, so a November worth of meals for one costs $30. Round it up to $35 for asst. costs & hygiene products. If 13% of us donate $35 each to food banks, we can get everyone through Nov! #EndHunger 🥙💪

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei makes so much more sense as a manga and anime if you internalize that all the seemingly errant storylines is the boomer writer airing out all the trivial arguments he lost or random thoughts about society he had on public transit.
i love the king of the hill episode where hank gets bullied by a child who calls him "dusty old bones full of green dust" because it's SO specific and so believable to weird shit kids say that i refuse to believe it's anything other than a biographical detail from a KOTH writer's life

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Really, truly amazing that OpenAI wants us to believe that they are worth a trillion dollars but also they are so desperate for revenue that they created an infinite SlopTok app that opens them up to a billion lawsuits just so that they can maybe someday make it even worse by filling it with ads.

Val and I checked repeatedly because we simply couldn't believe no national or local news organizations covered this letter from 18 AGs in support of trans youth care and against FTC overreach.

If you find any stories, let us know, but it seems to be our exclusive.
On Friday 18 blue state attorneys general BLASTED the Federal Trade Commission, telling it to back off trans youth healthcare and warning of an insidious attempt to reshape the regulation of medicine in the US.

And nobody covered it.

It’s super easy to get a new MMR shot at any pharmacy. I got mine last spring at Wallgreen’s while getting my Covid booster. You can get one now when you go in for the new Covid and flu shots. Insurance generally covers it, so it’s a confirmation of safety with zero worry and zero $$.
There's yet another measles outbreak. Act now.

Measles is an incredibly contagious, airborne pathogen that can cause serious illness, including blindness, encephalitis, pneumonia, and immune amnesia (the immune system 'forgets' how to fight other pathogens).
