Ukraine has shot down a Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber at a distance of 191 miles with an S-200 missile system.

The aircraft was responsible for a strike that killed eight people, including two children, earlier in the war.

The ship has largely sailed on limiting warming to 1.5C at this point, barring us getting very lucky with low climate sensitivity or actively geoengineering the climate.

But there still are viable paths to limit warming to below 2C this century, as shown in the figure below:

I grew up on the Gulf Coast in FL and TX. I lived through more hurricanes, tropical storms, floods and tornadoes than I can even remember. I honestly can’t remember a time before about 15 yrs ago when there was ever any hesitation about disaster relief for fellow Americans. Ever.
