Please believe me when I say that this meaningless, historically suspect slogan is being used to sell "AI." Here it is in the just-released November 2025 report on AI by Microsoft. www.microsoft.com/en-us/resear...

WE WON. I am *begging* you to take note of who did this. *Not* UCLA admin—they’re still scuttling around behind closed doors, attempting to appease—but FACULTY AND STAFF, led by AAUP.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

not to be alarmist but in any scenario where this isn’t just more “dudebro waving his dick around to look cool” posturing basically implies that the scale of mass murder by the US armed forces in LatAm is about to accelerate through the roof

Sometimes I am so bad at date recall I misremember something that happened in 2021 as from 2008 and this is the kind of moment that makes me think “ah yes, vibes, it was the vibe”

Just yesterday the Techtonic podcast had an episode about data centers setting up in rural Mexican villages & suddenly there's a hepatitis outbreak because there's no longer enough potable water for washing & the local doctor has to do stitches by candlelight, don't tell me this isn't also racism.

Feeling down? Put this on! its fun and sweet and a good decision you can make for yourself.
Here’s a few screenshots of MYSTERY CUDDLERS from the minds of Pen Ward & Jack Pendarvis. The pilot is available to watch for free on the Adult Swim YouTube. I’ve been quietly working on this for the past year or so.
I drew these backgrounds, Elle Michalka colored them.

Those of us in the Effron Center are also devastated. Such loss. Such a shock. 💔
I've been waiting to comment publicly on this until the university made its announcement, but the Department of History at Princeton is devastated by the recent death of our wonderful colleague Alison Isenberg.
Alison Isenberg, distinguished urban historian and co-founder of Princeton-Mellon Initiative in Architecture, Urbanism and the Humanities, dies
A public memorial and celebration of Isenberg’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the University Chapel.

as an alumni of the Mexican American & Latina/o Studies dept., the work of our peers in AAADS & WGS do is part of our strength: we share a building, take pedagogy courses together, show up at the same events. our commitments to solidarity with one another make us a target.
UT Austin is discussing eliminating or consolidating our departments of African American and African Diaspora Studies, Mexican/American and Latino/Latina Studies, and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Here is what AAADS alumni have to say. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

what is rizz if not a qualitative method
fully 50% of the most recent People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive (TM) were humanities majors (and the others didn't go to college). Which points to an ongoing crisis in higher education: why are STEM programs taking our tax dollars yet failing to give our young men critical Sexiness skills?!

The correctest take
Mamdani got a humanities degree.

His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.

Algo divertido de la reacción gringa "no somoz azi" ante el trumpismo es que, viéndonos lo más buena onda posible e ignorando siglos de historia, llevan por lo menos 25 años siendo así y la evidencia más contundente de ello es Dick Cheney.
