🌡️ The numbers are officially in for 2025:
New Mexico tied for the 2nd warmest year on record with 2024. This is all part of a very obvious warming trend since the late 1970s. 9 of the 10 warmest years on record have been since 2000. #NMwx

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Albuquerque and the East Mountains 1" graupel and hail. Accumulating graupel has been bring icy roads to the Metro. There is also a ton of lightning and thunder with this storm! #NMwx

A snow squall with thunder and lightning is moving down I-40 between Grants and Laguna! This is causing brief, white-out conditions. This same band of snow could bring a briefly intense period of rain and snow in the Albuquerque Metro around 6 pm. #NMwx

Winter storm #2 is still on the way to New Mexico later today.
- This storm will bring more snow this afternoon through Friday.
- Biggest impacts from the snow will be tonight into Friday for areas above 6,500'.
- Coldest air so far this season moves in Saturday morning.

Not much snow around Santa Fe this morning, around 1-2" at most. A Winter Weather Advisory continues until 11 am Friday. 1-3" of snow possible tonight with higher amounts above 7,500'. #NMwx

There is now a chance to see snowfall tonight around Santa Fe and the far Northeast Heights in Albuquerque! Snow levels are sitting lower than expected, so it's possible to see up to 3" of snow in Santa Fe and 1-2" above Eubank in Albuquerque by Thursday morning. #NMwx

The first of two winter storms is moving through New Mexico bringing rain and snow above 8,000'. Snow levels will lower to 7,000' tonight as rain moves through the rest of the state. We get a break Thursday morning before storm #2 moves in Thursday evening. #NMwx
