I've been saying it for a while. Coach Knob is pushing the "beat Florida" system, but this team is not built for it. This is a speed & skill team playing dump and chase hockey. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that it was Gullys fault, but he's gone now and the problem is worse.

#LetsGoOilers
Lots of issues for the Edmonton Oilers. Most of which fall under the head of the coach's scope of responsibilities.

I promise you that about one month after the AI bubble collapses into a gravitational singularity, companies like Apple will now be up-selling their new, AI-free software as some great solution to a problem they DEFINITELY didn't cause.
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

Kansei Matsuzawa, the Tokyo Toe, is still perfect on this season in FGs (22/22) and extra points (33/33).

He'll try to keep his streak up this FRIDAY, when the Rainbow Warriors travel to Vegas to take on UNLV.
🏈 🇯🇵 Kansei Matsuzawa learned how to kick field goals on YouTube. Now at Hawaii, he might be the best kicker in college football.

Even more amazing? He’s on track to be the first born-and-raised Japanese player in the NFL.

I discuss this in a piece that's going up in an hour, but lowkey my theory about lansdowne 2.0 is that the PWHL knew full well they were committing to a city whose arena was going down to 6.5k seats and then the charge were more successful than expected and now they're panicking

I've got a whole lot of thoughts on Lansdowne and the Charge that I'm going to try to write down because apparently I'm the resident arena drama guy for @silversevensens.com

But in the meantime read this fantastic pieces on it from @elishacote.bsky.social at @theicegarden.bsky.social

It’s not the arena we wanted, but it’s the one Ottawa needs right now.

The vote on Bill 33 has been delayed until tomorrow. #Ontario, we need them to hear our voices, and to know that we won’t stand for this attack on our province’s schools.

Go to ontariondp.ca/stop-the-attack and tell Doug Ford to stop Bill 33 and Bill 60.

Share and spread the word!

It’s inescapable. The NBA game has developed to the point where not even NBA players (who are genuinely superhuman) can consistently keep up with the physical demands without breaking down.
Steve Kerr said he’s “concerned” about the increase in soft tissue injuries across the NBA. His medical staff believes the increased pace paired with the schedule has led to it.

“They believe the wear and tear, the speed, the pace, the mileage is factoring into these injuries.”

This is very disturbing and something all Canadians should be aware of. Further, for critical scholars of sport, I think there's a great need to understand the important role of (certain types of) physical culture in the rise of white nationalism/neo-fascism.

Same for CBS News and ABC News -- two richly resourced media companies that caved for their own, narrow purposes and made things immeasurably harder for smaller news organizations with thinner margins.
One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

Councillor Holyday worries about retail stores that "sell some zany thing that has very little value." He wants to know if council could define a list of what stores can sell.

Staff say they can regulate things like size, noise and property standards, but generally not what stores sell.
